Why does Breadcrumbs Travel App exist?
Breadcrumbs exists to provide you with awesome suggestions of what to do…
Breadcrumbs is a travel app designed to trigger the discovery of places to go & things to do. We are challenging the ‘one size fits all’ approach to recommendations by providing a platform which learns from your interaction in order to link you with the people & places that you love. We wanted transparency & authenticity to be at the forefront, which is why our content is user-uploaded & filtered.
How long do you spend at work deciding where to go for lunch?
Picking what walk you should do on the weekend?
Choosing which attraction will you enjoy while travelling?
We think these decisions should be easy, and with Breadcrumbs they are! By dropping crumbs and following other users you will quickly begin to build a community of individually relevant content which suits you.
Who are we?
‘We’ are Cameron & Brendan…
A couple of mates since way back who have a yearning for exploration & discovery. We began work on Breadcrumbs in 2015, before committing full time in 2016.

Cameron began work on da crumb at uni, as part of his design degree. He wanted to solve the problem of university students struggling to find their niche within their adopted home city. Not only did Cam solve that problem, but he addressed a fundamental need for individually relevant suggestions. Cam is known in his friend circle for being in-the-know. He can tell you what cafe does the best donuts, which art gallery has the dopest exhibition and which bar to take your missus to. This guy is a walking, talking city guide for Wellington. But he wanted to find a way to extend his knowledge of cool shit beyond Wellington, by projecting from his interests of photography, art & coffee.

Brendan’s involvement comes from a passion for travel & adventure. After spending a couple of years travelling & doing ski seasons Brendan returned to little ol’ Wellington, where Cam showed him his major uni project called ‘Breadcrumbs’. Brendan’s mind instantly jumped to his experiences travelling & just how much he could have used Breadcrumbs. Sick of dealing with the negative complaining nature of TripAdvisor, the mainstream suggestions of Lonely Planet & the commercialization of booking.com, Brendan knew there was room for a more authentic, organic & positive sharing platform.
