Cruising up the beautiful West Coast, we decided to spend a night in the Fox Glacier area. We did the loop around Lake Matheson to get that all important mirror lakes shot (it was cloudy), before heading up to the glacier itself. Fox glacier is a real eye opener. Walking the distance to the foot involves crossing land that was once covered by the glacier & it’s a real shock to see first-hand just how much & how fast our glaciers are retreating.
